There are a number of information systems, that are used daily, to meet the goals and objectives of the business. And these information systems are not used by the business, however they are used by the people within the business.
Some of the basic information systems which are used in the business are the following: e-mails, accessing web pages, instant messages and blogs. Presently, as a student I believe that we are even using these emails and instant messages everyday to maintain contact with teachers and friends. I think that these MIS will help me in my career, and these things like email (and others) will help in the future to achieve goals and objectives of businesses.

MIS will continue to contribute a lot in the business field, because these systems are giving a new track to the businesses and making methods for the company easier to achieve there target goals.

WHAT IS AN INFORMATION SYSTEM

(From the textbook) An information system is a group of components that interact to produce information.

The five components of an information system are the following:
Computer hardware
Software
Data
Procedures
People
I do not believe that there may be any electric equipment, from simple to the complex in which these components are not present. We all have been using IS on a daily basis and even I am not far from this. The IS I am going to discuss about, is one where I don’t think that there may be anyone who may have not heard about it i.e. FACEBOOK. This is a website which is used daily to maintain contact with friends and relatives, and even people can update their profiles. There is a procedure with which we can use facebook. First of all, we need a hardware i.e. computer or smart phones, and after that a username and password to log in. Facebook itself is software, which is made by the professionals, and it cannot be run without people. People use it regularly within a 24 hour span and they can share their pictures and messages with everyone.

CELLPHONES

This is a world of science and technology, where all the work is performed through machines and little is done manually. The new innovations of technology, have made the life of man easier and more comfortable. Unlimited global reach of technology has resulted in many innovations and advancements in a number of existing technologies.
One of the examples I would like to talk about, is cell phones. There are a number of software’s which can be downloaded, and the hardware itself is the mobile. Other options that we use the smart phones for are things like GPS, and we can get any information that we require from around the world. According to me, smart phones are fully related to IS, and they contain all the five components that IS systems need. These phones can also be given other names such as pocket computers.
There are procedures by which data stored in these phones can be used like to access such as GPRS, and we have to activate it from the company and even if we want to download some stuff like songs or movies we have to use the computer. But these phones have made the life easy for professionals and students alike, so they can check their emails or any of the latest information within seconds.

BUSINESS LEADERS I ADMIRE

In life one has to admire someone, and follow his/her footprints to achieve success in life. Teachers and leaders are the people that assist us (including God of course) and both show us the correct methods to achieve our goals. There is one person whom I admire a lot and wanted to become like him (he is the business tycoon of India), Mukesh Ambani. I admire the way he runs his business, in terms of his profit structure. I feel that he is a person who doesn't run after success, but success runs after him. He was chosen as one of the best businessman of the year in 2007 . This is why I wanted to go into the business field, and the reason I have chosen marketing as my major, because I think that this will help me in building a strong base for a successful career.

MY AWARDS AND HONOURS

This is a world of competition and competition makes our work better, helps make us more ambitious, and a great deal more honest. In my life I have always worked hard on every challenge that has appeared in my life, to the best of my personal ability be it: sports, or schooling. I got a scholar shirt as a prize in my school, and I have even recieved many prizes for quizes of mathematics and science. We all know that life is a struggle, and if we have to gain success in life, we have to run with time. During my school years I was selected as a captain for my basketball team, during which our team had won many championships and various prizes. I always wanted to excel in my field, even now when I am doing marketing, I want to excel in that field and I think that God will help in achieveing my goals.

My Educational Achievements

People in this world try to achieve something in life, and I hope to achieve the same success by following the same path. Presently I am enrolled in the business general program in Sheridan college and previously I have done my schooling in India. I think that the educational system of India is very different from Canada, and it is easier in Canada than India. I have obtained my 12th grade in the science stream and I achieved a good percentage, after I completed my schooling from Green Land School which is one of the best school in India. Afterwards, I went to do my graduation ,and completed another course in the arts stream. Than I applied to Canada for further studies, and I even cleared my Ielts exam before coming here. Now I am doing my 2nd semester at Sheridan, and I have lots of hopes for the future.

FUTURE GOALS IN BUSINESS

Presently I am completing a two year diploma in Business, marketing being my major. Earlier I have completed my Grade 12 education in the science stream, after which I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree. I changed the track from science stream to business because I wanted to go into the business, because in the future I want to create my own business and become my own boss. I would work for any other company that suits my interests, in an attempt to further develop myself as an individual. I think that presently, my course in marketing will play a major role in advanving my future career because now industries are growing in number and marketers will be in high demand, and will play a major role in these businesses. I hope all goes according to my personal expectations, and those of my family, and perhaps my friends if they are lucky enough to work with me.
